Welcome to the Employing Company Induction
The site is sponsored by the Step Change in Safety initiative and is intended to provide on-line access to the common element of the Employing Company Induction required for travelling offshore in the UK.
An Employing Company Induction (ECI) forms part of the Common Induction process and replaces the induction courses traditionally run by each Operator (or Duty Holder) for offshore staff. All operating and contracting companies will now be expected to run their own safety induction courses, for staff that are going offshore for the first time. The successful completion of the ECI is a mandatory requirement for travelling offshore and must be recorded on the individual's training record in Vantage.
For further information on how to setup a employing company induction course please see Common Induction Process Guidelines Rev 0 @ 4-6-1999 (PDF document 340KBytes) and Company Induction Process Additional Guidelines (PDF document 204KBytes).
An ECI course comprises of a 50 minute On-Line Induction Programme supplemented by additional information specific for the employing company.
Important: Before you begin please ensure that the organization (company) mobilizing you to site is registered with ECI by checking the list (see Registered Organisations list). If your organisation is not listed then you should contact your company representative to register the organization (see Organisation Registration Process).
If you have any questions please contact 0800 345 7990 during UK office hours.
